Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Terkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vili Sippola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sippola shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sippola is looking to work some ground and pound but Terkey has wrist control.
Terkey definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Terkey working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sippola doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sippola manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Sippola fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Terkey, pushing him back against the cage.

Sippola is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Terkey defends well.
Sippola is trying to control the position but Terkey postures up.

Sippola uses the cage to get back to his feet.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sippola seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Terkey seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Sippola has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Terkey pushes Sippola off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Terkey shoots in but no luck this time.

Sippola throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Terkey tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Sippola is in Terkey's guard.
Terkey is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sippola dives into side control.

Terkey wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Sippola seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Terkey is tapping! Wow, great finish!
