Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fingers McTwist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Austin comes to the cage accompanied by "Shattered Glass". These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Austin! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Fingers McTwist! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McTwist throws a hook to the side of Austin's head but Austin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. McTwist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but McTwist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. McTwist fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McTwist shoots in but Austin avoids the takedown attempt easily. McTwist changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Austin tries to avoid it but McTwist manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Austin to the ground. Austin escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Steve Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fingers McTwist. McTwist fails in his attempt to clinch. Excellent takedown into side control there by Austin. Check out the look on Austin's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
McTwist tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Austin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Austin wants to control but McTwist is keeping him busy. Austin tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Austin trying to control the position but McTwist is working away. Austin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McTwist on the ground. Austin in side control lands a decent elbow. Austin connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused McTwist some visible discomfort.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McTwist can do anything to dispel that myth. Austin wants to stand but McTwist has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Austin is looking to stand up but McTwist won't let him. McTwist throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Austin throws a one two combo.
McTwist misses with a takedown and Austin counters with a single leg into guard. McTwist didn't expect that. Austin is breathing heavily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Austin is in close to McTwist's body, working some short punches and elbows. Austin trying to control but McTwist is working from the bottom. McTwist pulls Austin in close to prevent any damage. McTwist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. McTwist wants to stand and escape but Austin is having none of it. Austin postures up and lands a big shot to McTwist's brow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McTwist keeping full guard, as Austin tries to pass. Austin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Austin works over McTwist with some ground and pound from guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. McTwist gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. McTwist manages to break the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Austin closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McTwist to the mat! McTwist manages to get full guard. Austin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McTwist uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from McTwist as Austin shoots in. Austin shoots in and bounces McTwist off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. McTwist trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
That's four minutes gone in the round. McTwist is trying to control the position but Austin postures up. Austin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Austin scoring with punches to the head and body. McTwist tries to strike from the bottom.
McTwist pushes Austin off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Austin fails to land with a series of punches.

Austin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Austin shoots in but no luck this time. Austin looks for a takedown but McTwist sprawls well. McTwist moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McTwist stands up from guard. Let's bang! Austin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Steve Austin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fingers McTwist. McTwist tries to clinch but Austin moves out of range. Austin feints and as McTwist raises his hands in defense, Austin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with McTwist in particular looking to stall. McTwist's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Austin throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Austin trying to control the position from guard on top but McTwist is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Steve Austin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McTwist working a defensive guard here.
McTwist is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Austin controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fingers McTwist showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Austin throws a right and a left that McTwist avoids nicely. McTwist gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Austin stops McTwist from standing up. Austin scoring with punches to the head and body. McTwist keeping moving, preventing Austin from controlling successfully. McTwist bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Austin's guard. McTwist is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Austin wants to sweep but no luck. Both fighters are breathing heavily. McTwist cracks Austin with a solid left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Austin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McTwist has a closed guard, preventing Austin from standing up. Austin thows a big elbow that misses. McTwist has Austin pulled in close to control his posture. Austin throwing strikes but missing. Austin looking to sit in guard and control but McTwist gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. Austin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McTwist escapes and throws Austin's legs to the side, diving into side control! Austin is trying to strike from the bottom but McTwist has passed into full mount. McTwist wants to control the pace but Austin is squirming around nicely. McTwist controlling the pace for now. McTwist trying to control but Austin is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. McTwist working Austin over with strikes here. Austin is trying desperately to improve position. McTwist lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Austin hang on? Austin is in all sorts of trouble here.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McTwist lands a heavy elbow. Austin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Fingers McTwist comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think McTwist has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
