Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lindsey Rocker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Butch Larson! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Larson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rocker sprawls well initially but Larson persists and gets the takedown into half guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Rocker trying to control from the bottom.
Rocker tries to roll over but Larson keeps him under control. Larson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Rocker regains full guard. Nicely done. Rocker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Larson wants to pass the guard but Rocker is keeping the position. Rocker looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rocker is working hard here to advance position. Larson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Rocker utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Larson wants to control from the top but Rocker keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Larson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Rocker is adopting a defensive guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rocker is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rocker trying to control but Larson is working from the bottom. Rocker is posturing up here but Larson has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rocker tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rocker has to tap! Slick submission there by Larson!
