Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Roy Charleston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Might Guy! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charleston closes the distance and lands a one-two. Charleston throws a head kick but Guy moves out of range.
Charleston throws a hook but Guy blocks it. Guy thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Charleston if he has to take too many more of those.
Charleston misses with a combination
and Guy counters with a nice body kick. Guy slips a jab and a cross from Charleston.
Guy wants to counter the offense by Charleston and move into the clinch position. Charleston has taken the fight to the clinch.
Charleston has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Guy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Guy. Guy wants to take the fight to the mat but Charleston manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Guy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Charleston is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Guy to the mat. Guy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guy working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Charleston. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Guy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Charleston defends well. Charleston postures up in Guy's guard and throws a big left but Guy blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charleston throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Charleston trying to control the position from guard on top but Guy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Charleston loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Charleston being controlled here momentarily. Guy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Charleston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Charleston drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Guy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Charleston has Guy in his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Guy has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Charleston is proving hard to escape from. Guy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Charleston's guard. Guy trying to control from half guard but Charleston is working away. Guy trying to pass the guard but Charleston defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Guy prevents Charleston from improving his position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Charleston throws a right hand that Guy ducks under and follows up with a left that Guy also avoids with ease. Guy moves into the clinch successfully.
Guy goes for a takedown attempt but Charleston pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Guy shoots in for a double leg but Charleston sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Roy Charleston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Might Guy. Guy dodges the punch combination from Charleston.
Guy raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Guy shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Charleston as he avoids it easily. Charleston misses the body punch and Guy counters with a three punch combo that has Charleston backing up. Charleston nods at Guy to acknowledge the strikes. Charleston misses with the combination.
Guy unleashes a big counter combination but Charleston bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Charleston is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Guy to keep the fight standing. Charleston is breathing heavily. Charleston is working for takedown but Guy is calmly controlling the position for now. Guy decides to pull guard. Guy throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Charleston prevents Guy from getting back to his feet. Charleston is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Guy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That was a close round but I would say that Roy Charleston will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Charleston dives in for a single leg takedown but Guy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Guy is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Guy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Charleston is fending him off so far but Guy persists. Nope, Charleston circles away and we're back to standing. Guy throws a right and a left that Charleston avoids nicely. Roy Charleston is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Charleston closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Charleston wants to take the fight to the mat but Guy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Guy manages to break the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roy Charleston. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Charleston tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Guy is able to avoid easily. Guy tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Charleston fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Guy is looking to clinch but Charleston is avoiding it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Guy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Guy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Charleston to his feet. Guy connects with a high kick. Guy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charleston tries to avoid it but Guy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charleston to the ground. Charleston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Charleston tries to sprawl but Guy drives through with a takedown into half guard. Charleston has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Guy is on him like a limpet, forcing Charleston back against the cage. Charleston gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Guy trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Guy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Charleston is one step ahead there.

Charleston gets to his feet - Guy follows without any prompting. Guy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Charleston.
Charleston manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Guy on his heels. He'll look to pass Guy's guard now, I'm sure. Guy looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Charleston looking to pass the guard. Charleston stops Guy from standing up.

Charleston connects with a couple of short punches. Charleston chips away with some ground and pound. Guy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Charleston tries to free his leg and advance position but Guy is retaining full guard. Charleston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Guy's head. Charleston stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guy swivels though and keeps the full guard. Roy Charleston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Charleston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Guy's head. Charleston slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Guy is looking to reverse the position. Charleston looks up at the clock and then as Guy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Charleston smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Roy Charleston dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Guy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Guy chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Charleston can pounce on him.
