Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Richard Okusaka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kong Man Choi! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Choi. Choi lands a jab to Okusaka's midsection. Choi throws a head kick but Okusaka moves out of range.
Kong Man Choi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Choi misses with a double jab.
Choi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Choi. Okusaka ducks right into an uppercut from Choi. Choi jabs at Okusaka's body. Okusaka shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Okusaka could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. A leg kick checked by Okusaka. Choi lands with a nice body kick. Choi works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Choi misses with a head kick.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Choi with a jab. Okusaka blocks a head kick by Choi.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Okusaka. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Nice uppercut lands for Choi. That snapped Okusaka's head back.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Choi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Choi scores with a three punch combo!

Nice straight punches there by Choi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Choi. Choi cracks Okusaka with a right hand to the side of the head. A combination from Choi does no damage. Okusaka shoots in and drives through. Choi sprawls well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Choi. Choi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Choi. Okusaka moves out of range of the body kick. Choi tries to land a front kick but Okusaka steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Choi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Okusaka closes the distance and clinches up with Choi, looking for a takedown. Okusaka pushes Choi against the cage but Choi circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Choi misses with a two punch combination.

Okusaka takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Choi lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Okusaka has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Okusaka and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Okusaka drives through with a takedown into guard. Okusaka trying to control but Choi is working from the bottom. Okusaka passes easily into side control. Nice work. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Okusaka works to advance to full mount. Choi defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kong Man Choi dominated that round. The cut man is working on Richard Okusaka's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Choi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Choi scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Choi misses with a low kick. Choi moves into range and connects with a jab. Choi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kong Man Choi seems to be getting the better of the standup. Choi throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Okusaka stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Choi throws a sloppy head kick and Okusaka moves out of range easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A head kick misses from Choi. Okusaka takes a shot right to the bread basket. Choi misses with a wild combination.
Okusaka tries to close the distance and clinch but Choi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Choi scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Choi throws a body kick that misses. A left and a right from Choi both land. Nice combination. Okusaka on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Choi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Okusaka. Choi throws the kick towards the body but Okusaka avoids it. Choi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Okusaka circles away quickly and effectively. Choi misses with a double jab.
Choi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Choi fails with the takedown and Okusaka counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Okusaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Choi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Okusaka forces his way into half guard. Choi is staying active underneath Okusaka, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Choi wants to get back to his feet.
Choi is not content to let Okusaka control the position. Okusaka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Choi is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Kong Man Choi will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Richard Okusaka's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Choi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Choi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. Choi's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Choi duly obliges. Okusaka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Okusaka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Okusaka content to stall in guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Choi keeping full guard, as Okusaka tries to pass. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Choi can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Okusaka trying to control the position from guard on top but Choi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Okusaka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Okusaka throwing strikes but missing. Okusaka trying to control but Choi is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Choi throws a leg kick that is checked and Okusaka decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Choi's guard. Choi wants to stand up but Okusaka is controlling him. Richard Okusaka has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Kong Man Choi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Okusaka throws and elbow that misses. Choi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Okusaka's guard. Nice move by Choi!
