Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bob Serget (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Noonan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Serget kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Friends in lower places. The crowd seem to be enjoying Noonan's choice of entrance music: 3DD - Kryptonite. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

38 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Noonan! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Serget tries to close the distance and clinch up but Noonan swats him away and circles back towards the center. A low kick from Noonan is predictable there so Serget counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Noonan wants to sweep here but Serget controlling him for the moment. Noonan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Serget seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Serget pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Noonan is keeping the position for now. Noonan seems keen to control Serget's posture.

Noonan gets caught napping as Serget dives in and scores a takedown. Noonan manages to retain guard. Noonan wants to sweep but no luck. Serget working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Serget stopping the sweep attempt from Noonan. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Serget trying to control but Noonan is working from the bottom. Noonan trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Serget sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Noonan's guard. Noonan gets back to full guard.

Noonan slaps away a takedown attempt from Serget, before circling back to the center of the mat. Noonan looks like he wants to counter punch here. Noonan shoots in for a double leg but Serget sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Noonan throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. You can see the frustration on Noonan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Serget lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. A big left from Noonan misses. Noonan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Serget checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Serget feinted with a counter takedown. Serget gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Noonan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Serget swivels though and keeps the full guard. That's two minutes gone in the round. Serget utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Noonan preventing the sweep. Bob Serget overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Noonan trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Noonan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Serget swivels though and keeps the full guard. Noonan throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Serget works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Michael Noonan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Good leg kick by Noonan there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Noonan throws a leg kick but Serget sees it coming and moves out of range. Serget doesn't succeed with the takedown and Noonan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Noonan throws a body kick that misses. As Noonan looks to move away, Serget throws a big counter combo bu Noonan just gets out of the way. A momentary lapse in concentration from Noonan enables Serget to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Noonan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Noonan pulls Serget in close to prevent any damage. Noonan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Serget's guard.

Noonan thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Serget if he has to take too many more of those.

You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Noonan. Noonan goes for a double leg but Serget avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Serget continues to drive forward. It looked like Serget was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Noonan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Serget looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Serget is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Noonan is controlling him well. Noonan in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Serget struggling a bit here. Noonan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

And that's the end of the fight! Michael Noonan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Noonan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
