Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danny Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danny Murphy has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Murphy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Williams! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams stuffs the takedown attempt from Murphy. Murphy gets slowly back to his feet. Williams should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Williams gets caught napping as Murphy dives in and scores a takedown. Williams manages to retain guard. Murphy lands a couple of decent looking shots. Murphy content to stall in guard here. Murphy passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams is looking to improve his position.
Williams has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Murphy is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Murphy trying to control the pace. Murphy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Murphy decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Williams gets the takedown into side control. Murphy throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Williams shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Murphy napping and manages to drive through into side control! Murphy explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! Williams clinches up against the cage. Murphy works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Murphy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Murphy advances to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams is trying to maintain the position but Murphy is very close to passing his half guard. Nice strikes from Murphy there. Murphy working the head and body with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murphy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Murphy controlling the action here. Murphy slips a nice elbow through Williams's hands, connecting with Williams's forehead. Murphy passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to improve his position but instead Murphy has taken his back! Murphy biding his time, controlling Williams. Murphy is landing with strikes from the back. I would not like to be Williams right now.
Murphy is persistently looking for the submission but Williams is defending it well.

Danny Murphy dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Murphy darts in looking for a takedown but Williams gets double underhooks and turns Murphy into the cage. Williams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Murphy, pushing him back against the cage. Murphy jumps guard and drags Williams to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Murphy is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Murphy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Williams slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Murphy is looking to reverse the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Murphy is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Murphy sneaks out the side door and pushes Williams away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Williams bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Murphy bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Murphy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Williams misses with a double jab
and Murphy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Murphy gets control of Williams's arms and successfully pulls guard. Murphy will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Murphy throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Murphy is controlling Williams's posture. Murphy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murphy pushes Williams off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Murphy shoots in but no luck this time. Williams gets caught flat footed, as Murphy shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Murphy controlling from the top position. Williams seems keen to control Murphy's posture. Murphy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Murphy accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Murphy gets to his feet. Williams looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Murphy tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Murphy somewhat. Williams lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Murphy. That's going to take a lot out of him. Murphy shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Murphy lands a nice short elbow. Williams is looking to escape. Danny Murphy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Murphy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Murphy seems to be looking for submissions.

Williams jabs at Murphy's body. Murphy shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Despite the aggression on Williams's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Danny Murphy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Murphy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Murphy with a flurry of punches that miss. Williams wants to sweep here but Murphy controlling him for the moment. Williams is looking for a triangle but Murphy pushes his legs off easily.

He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams tries to get back to half guard but can't. Murphy stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Murphy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Murphy gets a double leg takedown into Williams's guard. Williams looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murphy is pushing down on Williams's leg trying to pass to half guard. Williams is fighting to maintain full guard but Murphy has managed to sneak the leg through. Williams tries to roll over but Murphy keeps him under control. Murphy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Nice strikes from Murphy there. Murphy controlling the pace. Murphy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Williams can do to turn this around? The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Murphy is trying to work for a kimura but Williams is defending well.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Murphy showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Murphy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
