Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Justin Romero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cahair McNeil!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Romero moves into the clinch.
McNeil is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Romero is defending well.

Romero breaks from the clinch.
McNeil takes one to the chin there.
Romero keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

McNeil closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Romero quickly recovers to half guard.
Romero misses with some strikes from the bottom.
McNeil trying to pass the guard but Romero defending well.
Romero is trying to get back to full guard.
Romero keeping hold of McNeil's head, controlling as best he can.
McNeil looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.

McNeil escapes and gets back to his feet.
McNeil shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Romero sprawls well. Romero wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McNeil gets slowly back to his feet.

Romero gets caught flat footed, as McNeil shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Romero working for a triangle but McNeil defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McNeil passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McNeil is looking to take a break and control but Romero is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

McNeil is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Romero doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time McNeil.

Romero is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and McNeil has latched onto it... Big trouble! McNeil pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Romero is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from McNeil!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Cahair McNeil!
