Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Jolly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyron Thatch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyron Thatch is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Jolly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyron Thatch!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jolly closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jolly lands in his opponent's guard.

Thatch uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Jolly feints and as Thatch raises his hands in defense, Jolly changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Jolly drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thatch dives on top into guard.
Jolly is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Thatch is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thatch wants to control from the top but Jolly keeps moving.
Thatch postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jolly is pulling down on Thatch's head to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jolly is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Thatch pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jolly is keeping the position for now.

Jolly manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Thatch stalling in the clinch but Jolly improves position.

Thatch wants a takedown but no success here.

Thatch has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Jolly turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jolly has control of an arm but Thatch manages to advance to Jolly's back!

Thatch has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jolly has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jolly is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Jolly just trying to survive but Thatch is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Even with his hooks in, Thatch manages to miss with strikes from the back.
You can see the frustration on Jolly's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Thatch has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Thatch looking to break Jolly's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Jolly remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Thatch will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Thatch misses with a combination

Jolly drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Thatch gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Jolly shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thatch's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Horrible takedown attempt by Thatch or perhaps it was just good defense by Jolly, which made it look bad.

Jolly shoots in but Thatch avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Thatch! But no joy.

Thatch fails in his attempt to clinch.

Jolly shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jolly is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Thatch has managed to free his arm - good work.

Thatch is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Jolly pulls his head out easily.

Jolly seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Jolly knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Thatch on the ground.

Justin Jolly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Jolly is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Thatch dives in and grabs Jolly's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jolly pushes down on Thatch's head and hops out.

Thatch has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Jolly is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jolly breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Jolly shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thatch napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jolly throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Thatch sneaks back into half guard.

Jolly seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jolly wants to pass the guard but Thatch is defending well.
Thatch wants to control but Jolly is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Thatch lands a slapping body shot.

Thatch fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Jolly looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
