The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weaver fails to land the takedown.
Weaver looks for a takedown but Santos sprawls well.
Santos throws a nice outside leg kick.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Santos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Weaver tries to keep at a distance but Santos has taken the fight into the clinch.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Weaver had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Santos defends it easily.

Santos uses his free foot to push down on Weaver's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Weaver.

Weaver tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Santos is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Weaver is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Weaver flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Santos anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Weaver and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Santos slips an arm under Weaver chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Santos has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Santos is squeezing on Weaver like an anaconda would it's prey. Weaver fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Royce Santos!
Royce Santos decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
