Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sean Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gordy Richardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Nolan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gordy Richardson!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nolan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Richardson.
Nolan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Richardson.
Richardson looks to land a combination but Nolan avoids it well.
Richardson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nolan.
Gordy Richardson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richardson works over Nolan's head and body with a nice combination.
Richardson misses with a series of wild punches.

Nolan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Nolan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Richardson wants to stand up but Nolan is controlling him.

Nolan drops back looking for a leg! Richardson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Richardson manages to kick Nolan off! Nolan jumps back into Richardson's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Nolan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Richardson sprawls well initially but Nolan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Nolan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Richardson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Nolan is really struggling to control Richardson but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Nolan seems to be looking for submissions.
Nolan is pressing down on Richardson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Richardson is holding on for now.
Nolan prevents Richardson from standing back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Nolan closes the distance and clinches up with Richardson, looking for a takedown. Nolan pushes Richardson against the cage but Richardson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nolan shoots in and drives through. Richardson sprawls well.
Richardson throws a lazy right hand but Nolan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Richardson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Nolan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nolan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Richardson is looking to escape.
Sean Nolan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Nolan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Richardson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nolan.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Nolan is taking a breather. Richardson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Richardson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Nolan has a takedown stuffed.

Nolan shoots in for a double leg but Richardson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Richardson lands a nice hook to Nolan's body. Nolan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Nolan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Richardson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Richardson can't keep his opponent in guard - Nolan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Richardson is kicking away at Nolan from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Nolan grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Richardson trying to push Nolan off... Richardson taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
