Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sam Fielders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Sipho Kunene!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kunene misses with a double jab.
Fielders swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Fielders definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kunene misses with a series of wild punches.
Kunene lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kunene.
It looks like Sam Fielders has been cut.
Fielders moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Kunene waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Fielders.
Kunene throws a lazy uppercut
and Fielders counters with a nice low kick that buckles Kunene's knee momentarily.
Kunene lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Fielders just misses with a punch to the body.
Kunene throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kunene lands a two punch combo.
Fielders is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kunene misses with a hook. Fielders ducked under it nicely.
Kunene throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Fielders sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fielders changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Kunene swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Kunene misses with a two punch combination.
It looked like Fielders wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Kunene throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kunene cracks Fielders with a right hand to the side of the head.
Fielders with a poor takedown
and Kunene counters by clinching up.
Kunene jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fielders walks away with a smile on his face. Kunene gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Kunene lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Kunene scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kunene connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Fielders tumbling to the canvas! Kunene pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Fielders was done - good stoppage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sipho Kunene!
