Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wood Pecker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vun Diesel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pecker comes to the cage accompanied by The Woody Woodpecker Song (Short Intro). The key to victory for Wood Pecker has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Wood Pecker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vun Diesel! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diesel connects with a nice looking jab.
Pecker avoids the head kick by Diesel.
Diesel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Pecker changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Diesel moves out of range as Pecker throws a body kick.
Pecker digs a good hook to Diesel's body.
Pecker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. The crowd cheers as Pecker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Diesel doesn't seem phased though. Diesel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Pecker lands with a hook. Diesel tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Pecker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Diesel controlling from the top position. Pecker has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Pecker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diesel on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diesel passes into half guard. Diesel trying to control the pace. Pecker trying to hold on to Diesel's head to control him but Diesel postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Diesel seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Diesel misses with a combination
and Pecker counters with a straight right hand. Good shot there by Pecker. Diesel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pecker circles away. Pecker misses with a head kick.
Diesel tries to clinch there but Pecker circles away.
Pecker with a nice cross. Wood Pecker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pecker cracks Diesel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Diesel is rocked! Diesel with a poor takedown and Pecker makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Diesel is still on wobbly legs! Can Pecker finish him? Diesel looks winded!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diesel on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Diesel doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pecker counters with a huge right that knocks Diesel out cold! Pecker is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Wood Pecker! Wood Pecker was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
