PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karol Krawczyk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tycoon One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Karol Krawczyk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tycoon One!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Krawczyk. No joy for One on that attempt.
Krawczyk leaves One with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Krawczyk fails in his attempt to clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from One enables Krawczyk to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. One manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
One keeping moving, preventing Krawczyk from controlling successfully.
One is looking to sweep but instead, Krawczyk has passed into half guard.
One preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

One is looking to control Krawczyk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can One avoid being mounted?
Krawczyk wants to pass the guard but One is defending well.
One makes his way to full guard. A much better position for One.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
One is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
One keeping full guard, as Krawczyk tries to pass.
Krawczyk has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of One is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Krawczyk rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but One moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

One closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Krawczyk quickly recovers to half guard.
One slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
One moves nicely into side control.
A lull in the action here as One stalls from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Krawczyk can't do much from the bottom here.
Krawczyk stops One from passing to mount.
One trying to control the action but Krawczyk is working from the bottom.
Krawczyk tries to improve position but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Krawczyk's face as One controls the position.
One cracks Krawczyk with a big elbow.
One in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
One wants to stand but Krawczyk is controlling his arm.

One is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Krawczyk is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Krawczyk's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Tycoon One will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



One gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
One slows down the pace here.
Krawczyk jumps guard but One stands there with Krawczyk around his waist. Krawczyk gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
One has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Krawczyk is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
One is looking to control Krawczyk's arms but Krawczyk gets an underhook and turns him. Now One has his back to the cage.
One tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Krawczyk jumps guard and drags One to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
One trying to control the position from guard on top but Krawczyk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Krawczyk escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. One gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

One trying to control but Krawczyk is working from the bottom.
Krawczyk tries to land a sweep but no joy.
One stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krawczyk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Krawczyk is trying to hold One in close to prevent damage but One has managed to pass into half guard.
Krawczyk has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. One is working away from the top position though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Krawczyk is controlling One's trapped leg to prevent One from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Krawczyk misses the shot to the body.
One tries to clinch there but Krawczyk circles away.
Krawczyk appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Krawczyk fails to land the takedown.
One wants to counter with a clinch but Krawczyk pushes him away.
Krawczyk closes the distance and clinches up with One, looking for a takedown. Krawczyk pushes One against the cage but One circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Karol Krawczyk. That's going to take a lot out of him.
One stuffs the takedown attempt from Krawczyk. Krawczyk gets slowly back to his feet.
One tries to counter with a clinch but Krawczyk shakes him off and moves away.

Krawczyk is trying to force a seperation but One has the dominant position.
One is looking to take this one to the mat.
Krawczyk can't get the takedown.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Krawczyk jumps guard but One stands there with Krawczyk around his waist. Krawczyk gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Krawczyk's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Krawczyk throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around One's waist but One gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krawczyk off to one side.
Karol Krawczyk is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

One throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Krawczyk was covering up waiting for the punch and One finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Tycoon One has got the better of the ground game so far.
One would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
One slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

One darts in looking for a takedown but Krawczyk gets double underhooks and turns One into the cage.

One gets tackled into the cage by Krawczyk. Krawczyk maintains the clinch.
Krawczyk is trying to break free.

One has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Krawczyk regains guard immediately.
One wants to control from the top but Krawczyk keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Krawczyk is on top in guard.
