Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Brad Doyles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ted Dee! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doyles misses with a head kick.
Dee pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Dee scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Doyles doesn't seem bothered though. Dee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Doyles taking a breather. Doyles wants a takedown.
Doyles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dee is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Doyles is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Dee stalling in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Doyles tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Doyles is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dee to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brad Doyles. That's going to take a lot out of him. Doyles is trying to pull guard but Dee has him pressed against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dee softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. A frustrated look appears on Doyles's face as he tries to break the clinch. Dee is pushing Doyles up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Doyles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Doyles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dee pinned against the cage. Dee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Dee thuds a left hand into Doyles's body. Dee bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Doyles! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Doyles is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Doyles looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Oh Doyles is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dee gets to his feet - Doyles follows without any prompting. Dee fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Doyles square on the jaw! Damn, Doyles is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ted Dee!
