Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Quin Kenobi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Vantuiese! The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kenobi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vantuiese tries to avoid it but Kenobi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vantuiese to the ground. Vantuiese escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Vantuiese feints the counter takedown. Kenobi gets tackled into the cage by Vantuiese. Vantuiese maintains the clinch. Vantuiese prevents the takedown attempt.
Kenobi is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Vantuiese pulls him back up using the underhooks. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quin Kenobi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vantuiese prevents a takedown attempt there.
Kenobi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vantuiese avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Vantuiese takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Vantuiese breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Vantuiese cracks Kenobi with a good jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kenobi moves into the clinch. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Vantuiese. Vantuiese with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Vantuiese misses with a shot to the kidneys.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Vantuiese. Kenobi wants a takedown.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vantuiese lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Vantuiese is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Vantuiese has hold of one of Kenobi's legs. Kenobi is fighting the takedown attempt but Vantuiese gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Vantuiese is looking to work some ground and pound but Kenobi has wrist control. Kenobi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Vantuiese with a nice head shot there. Vantuiese avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vantuiese trying to control the position from guard on top but Kenobi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kenobi is on top in guard.
Vantuiese wants to stand and escape but Kenobi is having none of it. Vantuiese is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Kenobi defends well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vantuiese has momentary wrist control but Kenobi slips an elbow through the middle. Kenobi won't allow Vantuiese to get back to his feet. Vantuiese is trying to hold Kenobi in close to prevent damage but Kenobi has managed to pass into half guard.

Kenobi takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Vantuiese looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Vantuiese is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kenobi pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vantuiese tries to get to full guard but Kenobi has control of the leg. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Vantuiese trying to hold on to Kenobi's head to control him but Kenobi postures up.
Vantuiese tries to get to full guard but Kenobi has control of the leg. Vantuiese really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kenobi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kenobi is nestled in close to Vantuiese, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Vantuiese looks like he's trying to stand up.
Vantuiese is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Kenobi scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Vantuiese is trying to control but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kenobi is keen to just control but Vantuiese is a slippery customer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vantuiese regains full guard. Nicely done. Vantuiese wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Vantuiese fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kenobi, pushing him back against the cage. Vantuiese is trying to stall.
Kenobi tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Vantuiese throws a punch but it's blocked by Kenobi. Vantuiese's coach down at Werewolf's cave was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Vantuiese's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Vantuiese connects with a nasty looking knee right to Kenobi's face.
It looks like Quin Kenobi has been cut. Kenobi is working for takedown but Vantuiese is calmly controlling the position for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A nice right hand lands inside from Vantuiese. Vantuiese landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Vantuiese doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kenobi takes a shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Vantuiese dominated that round. The cut man is working on Quin Kenobi's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Kenobi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Kenobi pushes Vantuiese up against the cage in a clinch. Vantuiese working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Vantuiese lands an elbow inside. Vantuiese lands a nice shot to the body. Vantuiese has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Vantuiese throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Vantuiese is pressed up against the cage. Kenobi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vantuiese down to the mat. Vantuiese avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vantuiese catches Kenobi napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Kenobi to the canvas!
Kenobi is rocked! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vantuiese gets to his feet and stands over Kenobi, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kenobi felt that one! Vantuiese unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kenobi from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jorge Vantuiese!
