Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Major Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Major Major! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jim Thompson ! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Felipe Paraventi and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Major tries to bum rush Thompson with a series of wild strikes but Thompson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thompson clinches up with Major and pushes him back against the cage. A nice glancing elbow lands by Thompson .
It looks like Major Major has been cut. Major is trying to push Thompson away but Thompson has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. A battle for position here, against the cage. Thompson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Major regains guard.

Major wants to stand and escape but Thompson is having none of it. Major scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Thompson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Thompson shoots in and drives through. Major sprawls well. Major doesn't manage to clinch there - Thompson circles away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Major works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
It looks like Jim Thompson has been cut. Thompson rushes Major and presses him up against the cage. Major blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Major is trying to break the clinch but Thompson is controlling him. Major can't break the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Major tries to circle away but Thompson has him pinned against the cage. Thompson is looking to control Major's arms but Major gets an underhook and turns him. Now Thompson has his back to the cage. Thompson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Thompson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Major's defenses. Thompson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Major is defending well for now. Thompson pushes off an throws an elbow but Major leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. I was talking to Major's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Thompson misses with an elbow strike.
Major breaks the clinch.
Major bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thompson 's head backwards. Thompson throws a head kick that misses. Major Major is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Thompson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Major feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Thompson sprawling to the canvas! Thompson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Major finish him?!
Thompson is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thompson gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Major Major! Major Major is the new lightweight champion!
