Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Loner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Jons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mike Loner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Jons!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jons closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Loner is looking to escape.
Jons should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Loner is breathing heavily.

Loner is defending against the submission attempts here by Jons.
Loner definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jons wants to advance to full mount but Loner doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jons seems to be working for a kimura but Loner defends the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jons wants to pass to mount but Loner is defending the position.
Jons not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jons seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jons decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Jons gets a takedown into half guard.

Jons is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jons thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Loner's head.

Jons is looking for a kimura but Loner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jons to get the leverage.
Jons slows the pace down in half guard.
Jons wants to pass to mount but Loner is defending the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jons content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Jons dominated that round.

Loner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Jons eats them both and turns towards Loner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Loner has closed the distance and engaged Jons in a clinch.
Loner swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jons has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jons prevents Loner from breaking the clinch.
Jons tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Jons wants the takedown. Loner is fighting it off but Jons persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Loner's guard against the cage.
Jons wants to control from the top but Loner keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jons missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Jons passes Loner's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jons is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Jons is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Jons thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jons trying to control from half guard but Loner is working away.

Jons wants to work for an arm triangle but Loner is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jons in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Loner tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jons!
