Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Hughs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hang Kwon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Hughs could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Hang Kwon's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
39 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Hughs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hang Kwon! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kwon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Hughs darts in and clinches Kwon up against the cage. Hughs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hughs swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kwon throws a head kick that misses. Kwon looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Kwon misses with a kick to the body.
Kwon throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Kwon throws a head kick that misses. Kwon throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Hughs's head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kwon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hang Kwon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kwon throws a head kick that misses. Hughs went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Kwon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Hughs fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kwon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Kwon throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Hughs counters with a lovely shot to the body. Hughs clinches.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short left from Hughs. Hughs trying to land knees to the body.
Hughs tries to land knees in the clinch but Kwon avoids the damage to the body. Hughs tries a knee to the head but Kwon blocks it.
Kwon dodges an elbow strike from Hughs.
Kwon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Kwon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hughs just stands there and leans against the cage. Kwon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Hughs misses with a knee strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hughs manages to break the clinch.
Kwon misses with a head kick.
Hughs blocks the body kick.
Kwon plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Hughs closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Kwon quickly recovers to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Hughs slips a nice elbow through Kwon's hands, connecting with Kwon's forehead. Kwon told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet. Kwon looking for submissions off his back. Kwon manages to escape and get back to his feet! Kwon with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Hughs takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Nice body kick there by Kwon. Hughs blocks a head kick by Kwon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hughs has Kwon up against the cage in a clinch.
Hughs tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Kwon's elbow. Hughs with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Hughs breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kwon misses with an attempted mid kick.
Hughs moves out of range of the body kick. Kwon misses with a head kick.
Hughs blocks a head kick by Kwon.
Kwon throws a wild body kick that Hughs sees coming a mile off. Hughs swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. A bone on bone clash there as Hughs blocks the leg kick.
Hughs tried to counter with a leg kick but Kwon avoided it. Kwon throws a head kick that misses. Hughs went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kwon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hughs instigates a clinch. Hughs with a knee to the head.
It looks like Hang Kwon has been cut. With the fighters up against the cage, Hughs throws an elbow but misses. Hughs lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Kwon or not. Hughs lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kwon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kwon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hughs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Kwon is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hughs defends well. Kwon has an active guard here but Hughs has managed to pass into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Joe Hughs will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Hang Kwon's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

A head kick by Kwon misses and Hughs decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kwon's guard. Joe Hughs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Hughs working some strikes from top position.
Kwon is rocked! Hughs working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Kwon is still in real trouble! Can Hughs finish him? The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hughs postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Kwon covers up, he's hurt! Hughs keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Hughs and the ref steps in to end the fight! Hughs can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Hughs!
