Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dzhambek Umkhayev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Perry has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, King Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dzhambek Umkhayev! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry closes the distance and clinches. Perry misses with a short punch on the inside. Umkhayev is looking to control Perry's arms but Perry gets an underhook and turns him. Now Umkhayev has his back to the cage. Perry gets underhooks to prevent Umkhayev's takedown attempt.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Umkhayev. Umkhayev tries to pull guard but Perry won't allow it.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Perry. Umkhayev is looking to take this one to the mat. King Perry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dzhambek Umkhayev. A quick uppercut on the inside from Perry. Perry swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Perry tries to break the clinch but Umkhayev is controlling the position. Perry lands a nice uppercut. Umkhayev pulls Perry into guard.
Umkhayev will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Umkhayev is trying to control the position but Perry postures up. Umkhayev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Perry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Perry postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Perry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Umkhayev works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Umkhayev wants to get back to his feet but Perry is in a dominant position and won't allow it. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Umkhayev can do anything to dispel that myth. Perry throws a big elbow that misses. Perry lands a couple of elbows. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Perry accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Perry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Umkhayev works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Perry has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Perry trying to control but Umkhayev is working from the bottom. Umkhayev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Umkhayev working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Perry. Umkhayev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Perry is looking to work some ground and pound but Umkhayev has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Perry missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Perry postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Umkhayev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Perry, into his guard. Perry is striking from the bottom but Umkhayev uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Perry has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Umkhayev missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Perry looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Umkhayev throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Umkhayev has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Umkhayev moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Perry has worked his arm free - good work by Perry!
Umkhayev throws an elbow but Perry slips to the side and avoids it well. Perry regains half guard. Still in half guard, Umkhayev seems content to control. We've been informed that Umkhayev has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Umkhayev decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Perry misses with a straight right. As Perry backs off Umkhayev throws a huge counter combo but Perry manages to avoid it all. Perry connects with a stiff jab that staggers Umkhayev - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). King Perry! After the fight, King Perry was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
