Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erik Kramer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy McLarnin! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kramer swings away with a body shot that misses
and McLarnin counters with a nice uppercut. Kramer throws a looping overhand right but McLarnin ducks down to avoid it. McLarnin on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. McLarnin swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McLarnin moves out of range as Kramer strikes. McLarnin is looking for the big counter here. McLarnin misses with a hook
and Kramer counters with a straight right hand. McLarnin misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kramer connects with a right hand. McLarnin shakes it off. Kramer looks to land a right hand but McLarnin moved out of range. A little jabbing left from McLarnin on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. A big left from McLarnin misses. Kramer fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kramer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and McLarnin counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Kramer feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends McLarnin sprawling to the canvas! McLarnin rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Kramer finish him?!
McLarnin is rocked! Kramer lands a big right hand that sends McLarnin crashing to the mat! Kramer stays standing though and waves McLarnin back to his feet! McLarnin is still on wobbly legs! Can Kramer finish him? The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McLarnin looks to land a combination but Kramer avoids it well. We've been hearing reports that Kramer has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. McLarnin tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kramer was well out of range. Poor timing from McLarnin. Kramer cracks McLarnin with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! McLarnin falls to his knees and Kramer doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Erik Kramer!
