Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Eddard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexander Yakovlev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yakovlev has chosen Maroon 5 - Sugar as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Karl Eddard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alexander Yakovlev! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yakovlev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Eddard manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Eddard scores with a nice head shot.
It looks like Alexander Yakovlev has been cut. Eddard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Yakovlev wants to clinch. Yakovlev tries to close the distance and clinch but Eddard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Eddard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

and Yakovlev counters with a series of strikes that sends Eddard to the canvas! Yakovlev follows down into guard, looking to finish the fight! Eddard controlling the position. Yakovlev is looking to stand up but Eddard won't let him. Eddard wants to sweep here but Yakovlev controlling him for the moment. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Eddard holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Eddard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yakovlev manages to get himself to full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Yakovlev tries to clinch up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Nice cross by Eddard. Eddard throws out a loose jab but Yakovlev uses good head movement to avoid it. Eddard is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight. Eddard throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yakovlev. The fight stays on the outside here - Yakovlev looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Eddard with a nice cross. Yakovlev doesn't manage to clinch there - Eddard circles away.
Eddard scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Eddard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Yakovlev tries to clinch but Eddard moves out of range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Yakovlev enables Eddard to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Yakovlev manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Yakovlev is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eddard working some strikes from top position. Eddard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Eddard lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Eddard stays in close to Yakovlev's body and controls the position. Yakovlev preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Eddard throwing strikes but missing. Eddard content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Eddard won't allow Yakovlev to get back to his feet. Eddard working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Eddard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yakovlev's head. Yakovlev utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Eddard lands a couple of decent looking shots. Eddard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Yakovlev is looking to stand up but Eddard isn't so interested in that idea. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eddard gets tackled into the cage by Yakovlev. Yakovlev maintains the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Eddard's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Yakovlev tries to clinch there but Eddard circles away.
Yakovlev slips under a jab. Yakovlev tries to clinch but Eddard moves out of range. Karl Eddard is winning the standup battle so far. Eddard missing with a left hand there. Yakovlev was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eddard shoots in for a takedown but Yakovlev shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Yakovlev fails in his attempt to clinch. Yakovlev is looking to clinch but Eddard is avoiding it.
Yakovlev tries to sprawl but Eddard drives through with a takedown into half guard. Eddard slips a nice elbow through Yakovlev's hands, connecting with Yakovlev's forehead. Eddard is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yakovlev can do to turn this around? Eddard landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Yakovlev wants to get back to his feet.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Ground and pound from Eddard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Eddard in particular looking to stall. Yakovlev taking some punishment here, with Eddard in his half guard. Eddard is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Yakovlev is rocked! Eddard lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Yakovlev quite badly. Yakovlev pulls Eddard in close trying to recover. Eddard postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Yakovlev on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Yakovlev doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
