Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tom Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aulis Tyrmaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ryan lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Tyrmaaja has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Tyrmaaja and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Tyrmaaja with the counter takedown but Ryan avoids it easily.
Ryan throws a looping overhand right but Tyrmaaja ducks down to avoid it.
Tyrmaaja fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ryan, pushing him back against the cage.
Tyrmaaja looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Ryan enables Tyrmaaja to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ryan manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Tyrmaaja takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Tyrmaaja rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ryan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Ryan counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Tyrmaaja closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ryan's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tyrmaaja throws a strike but Ryan rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ryan gets to his feet - Tyrmaaja follows without any prompting.

Ryan throws a front kick aimed at Tyrmaaja's knee but Tyrmaaja avoids it well.

Tyrmaaja looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ryan is fending him off so far but Tyrmaaja persists. Nope, Ryan circles away and we're back to standing.

Ryan tries to land a front kick but Tyrmaaja steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

and Tyrmaaja counters with a series of strikes. Ryan will be more careful next time no doubt.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ryan tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Tyrmaaja is able to avoid easily.

Tyrmaaja shoots in looking for a takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl out of it but Tyrmaaja keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ryan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Ryan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tyrmaaja was well out of range. Poor timing from Ryan.
Tyrmaaja lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A clash of legs there as Tyrmaaja blocks the low kick.
Tyrmaaja has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Ryan.
Ryan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Tyrmaaja. That did some damage!
Tyrmaaja throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ryan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tyrmaaja is in Ryan's guard.

As Tyrmaaja backs away, Ryan returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Ryan throws a quick inside leg kick.
Tyrmaaja throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ryan stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Aulis Tyrmaaja is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ryan leaves Tyrmaaja with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tom Ryan.
I think Ryan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
