1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Terry Halen! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pope fails in his attempt to clinch. Pope looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Halen fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pope fails in his attempt to clinch. Halen fails with the takedown. Pope tries to sprawl but Halen drives through with a takedown into half guard. Halen not doing much here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Halen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Pope pinned against the cage. Pope gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Robo Pope has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Terry Halen. No luck with that takedown attempt from Halen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. The fight stays on the outside here - Pope looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Pope pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Halen unleashes a big counter combination but Pope bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Halen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Halen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Pope's shoulder. That is not cool. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Halen throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pope's waist but Pope gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Halen off to one side. We've been informed that Halen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Halen shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Halen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pope sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Halen. Halen darts in looking for a takedown but Pope gets double underhooks and turns Halen into the cage. Halen blocks a head kick by Pope.
A head kick misses from Pope. Halen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Pope to the mat! Pope manages to get full guard. Halen engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pope tries to get out of the position. Pope can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Halen controls the pace. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pope throws a sloppy head kick and Halen moves out of range easily. Halen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pope but Pope pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Halen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Pope doesn't manage to clinch there - Halen circles away.
Halen feints the counter takedown. Halen with a dominant takedown and that's winded Pope.
Pope is rocked! Halen's corner is telling him to maintain position. Oh Pope is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Halen passes easily into side control. Nice work. You can see the frustration on Pope's face as Halen controls the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terry Halen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Halen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Halen slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Halen looking to pass the guard. Halen passes Pope's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Halen controlling the action here. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Terry Halen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Halen.
