Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Franco Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Matheus Silva and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rinaldi scores with a takedown into Gomez's guard.

Gomez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Gomez passes Rinaldi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gomez is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rinaldi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gomez.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gomez is looking to advance position but Rinaldi won't allow it.
Gomez is looking to take a break and control but Rinaldi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rinaldi is looking to control Gomez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rinaldi avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Luca Rinaldi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gomez slaps away a takedown attempt from Rinaldi, before circling back to the center of the mat.

A close round but Franco Gomez will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Gomez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Gomez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Luca Rinaldi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gomez lands with a slapping head kick.
Gomez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Rinaldi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gomez sprawls well. Gomez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rinaldi gets slowly back to his feet.

Gomez drives through with a takedown into Rinaldi's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Franco Gomez has got the better of the ground game so far.
Gomez tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Rinaldi is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Gomez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Gomez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rinaldi looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gomez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rinaldi is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gomez lets go of the hold and Rinaldi can pop his arm back in it's socket.
