Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Rock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, The Rock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Pearson! The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson throws a hook to the side of Rock's head but Rock sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Rock takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pearson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rock bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pearson's head.
It looks like James Pearson has been cut. Pearson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A swing and a miss from Pearson. Rock scores with a decent looking hook. Pearson swings for the body but Rock moves out of range.
Rock misses with a lunging right hand
and Pearson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Rock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rock lands a head shot. This has been an exciting period of action! Rock jabs at Pearson's body. Rock fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson stuns Rock with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Rock staying out of range there. Rock swings and misses with a shot to the body and Pearson counters with a stiff right hand. Rock sizes up Pearson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Pearson throws the left hand but Rock avoids the punch easily. Pearson missing with a left hand there. Rock was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Pearson misses with a right hand and Rock counters with a left to the body. Pearson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Rock. Rock avoids the body shot from Pearson.
That kick from Rock tenderised Pearson's leg. Pearson is trying to keep his angry face on. Jab, jab by Rock - just one landing. Pearson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Pearson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Pearson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rock lands a nice looking body shot.
This has been an exciting period of action! Rock throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rock blocks a jab. Rock with a hook. Pearson lands with a straight right. Rock didn't see that one coming. Rock waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Pearson. Pearson is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rock gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Rock lands on the inside with an uppercut. Rock lands with a left to the head. Pearson scores with a nice hook to the head. Rock misses with a punch on the inside.

Rock breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pearson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rock sees it coming and avoids it easily. Pearson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. The Rock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rock scores with a hook to the body. Pearson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Rock has managed to clinch.
Rock misses with a hook from the clinch. Rock swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Rock throws a lazy right hand but Pearson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. It looks like Rock has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Pearson cracks Rock with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Pearson ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Rock misses the body punch and Pearson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Rock bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pearson's head backwards.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pearson slips a straight right by Rock. Rock throws a sloppy body shot
and Pearson counters with a nice uppercut. A lazy left from Rock finds it's target. A jab from Rock misses. Pearson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Rock lands with a nice body punch. Pearson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Rock with a body punch. A glancing blow. Rock throws a shot from downtown. Pearson moves away and avoids it. Rock scores with a body shot.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jab from Rock.
That has opened up James Pearson's cut even more. Pearson moves out of range of the strikes. Rock throws a hook but Pearson avoids it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
The Rock dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Pearson's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Rock cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Rock gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Rock fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Pearson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rock throws a head punch that misses. Rock is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pearson can do to turn this around? Rock throws a punch but it's blocked by Pearson. Rock lands a hook that snaps the head of Pearson backwards. Pearson blocks an uppercut.
Rock swings away with an uppercut that misses.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Rock here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Rock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rock dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pearson. That did some damage! Rock scores with a body shot.

and Pearson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Pearson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

A jab from Rock finds it's way through Pearson's defenses. Rock fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pearson manages to avoid it. Pearson takes one on the button. A telegraphed right hand from Rock misses the target. Pearson slips a straight right by Rock. Nice cross by Rock. A big right from Rock misses. Rock's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pearson under the eye.

and Rock counters with a right hand to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A big right from Rock misses. Pearson misses with a looping left. The Rock is winning the standup battle so far. Pearson throws a shot from downtown. Rock moves away and avoids it. Pearson tries to move into range but Rock moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Rock connects with a jab. Rock feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pearsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Pearson is rocked!
James Pearson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Pearson takes a body punch but keeps moving. Pearson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Pearson is breathing heavily. Rock scores with a hook to the body. Pearson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Pearson slips a jab and a cross from Rock.
Rock dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Pearson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Rock rushes Pearson and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Rock misses with some punches.

Rock tries to work over Pearson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A shot in the inside from Rock.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at James Pearson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
