Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Merridew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Koji Yano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Yano's choice of entrance music: Fleur de Lis - Jucifer. Jack Merridew has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Merridew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Koji Yano!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yano takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Yano punishes Merridew's body with a nice straight punch.
Yano lands a nice looking body shot.
Decent striking displayed by Merridew there.
Merridew seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Merridew ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Yano moves away.
Merridew misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yano.
Yano moves out of range as Merridew strikes.
Yano ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Yano feints the counter takedown.

Yano clinches up with Merridew and pushes him back against the cage.
Merridew has had enough of the clinch but Yano keeps him there for the moment.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Yano.

Yano lands a good knee to the midsection. Merridew won't want to take too many of those.
Merridew is breathing heavily.

Yano ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Yano no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters circling - Merridew throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Yano closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yano lands in his opponent's guard.

Merridew throws the left hand but Yano avoids the punch easily.

Yano looks to land a combination. Merridew sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oh Merridew is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yano is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Yano gets to his feet and stands over Merridew, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Merridew felt that one! Yano unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Merridew from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Koji Yano!
A very excited looking Koji Yano made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
