PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Gibiatti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chauncey Silvestre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibiatti's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, DJ DJ. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of London, Frank Gibiatti!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chauncey Silvestre!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gibiatti throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Frank Gibiatti seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gibiatti is looking to clinch but Silvestre is avoiding it.
Gibiatti misses the jab.
Gibiatti darts in trying to clinch
and Silvestre counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Silvestre takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Gibiatti looks to score with a jab to the body but Silvestre is just out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A telegraphed right hand from Gibiatti misses the target.
Silvestre fails with a takedown attempt.
Silvestre goes for a double leg but Gibiatti avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gibiatti continues to drive forward.

Silvestre misses with a takedown attempt - Gibiatti sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Gibiatti ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gibiatti no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Silvestre avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gibiatti has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silvestre is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gibiatti.
Gibiatti is looking for a sweep.
Silvestre wants to stand but Gibiatti is controlling his arm.

Gibiatti is looking to control Silvestre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gibiatti avoid being mounted?

Silvestre takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gibiatti swings wildly with an uppercut but Silvestre uses good head movement to avoid it.

Gibiatti throws a low kick, looking for Silvestre's leg but Silvestre calmly moves out of range.
