Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Shepherd ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bosco Beanington! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beanington throws a series of punches but Shepherd moves out of range. Shepherd rushes Beanington and presses him up against the cage. Beanington is trying to maintain a safe position but Shepherd gets an underhook and turns Beanington into the cage. Beanington has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shepherd is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Shepherd breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Shepherd closes the distance and clinches. Beanington breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Beanington shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Shepherd defends it nicely. Shepherd feinted with a counter takedown. We've been hearing reports that Shepherd has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Beanington is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shepherd looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Beanington is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shepherd pulls his head out easily. Nice strikes from Shepherd there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shepherd wants to take a breather but Beanington is having none of it. Shepherd working the head and body with strikes. Shepherd is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Beanington has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shepherd is working away from the top position though. Beanington is pressing down on Shepherd 's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Shepherd keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Beanington's head. Beanington working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Shepherd doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Beanington is tightening it up a little... Shepherd has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Shepherd reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Shepherd taps out! Nice BJJ there by Beanington!
