Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peyton Hillis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ramses Kolmas!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hillis swings widly with a right hand

and Kolmas counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hillis won't be happy with that.

Kolmas looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hillis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kolmas on the ground.
Kolmas is looking to take a break and control but Hillis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kolmas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kolmas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kolmas trying to control the action but Hillis is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kolmas throws an elbow but Hillis slips to the side and avoids it well.

Hillis is trying to buck Kolmas off.
Kolmas just content to control the position.
Hillis pushes Kolmas away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kolmas gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Kolmas trying to control the action but Hillis is working from the bottom.
Hillis defending against the ground and pound.
Kolmas misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Kolmas trying to control the position but Hillis is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kolmas throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Kolmas swings around for an armbar but Hillis sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Kolmas's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hillis wanted to stand there but Kolmas had control of the position.

Hillis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hillis wants to stand but Kolmas is controlling his posture from full guard.
Kolmas pulls Hillis in close to his closed guard and prevents Hillis from doing any damage or advancing position.

Kolmas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hillis defends well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hillis wanted to stand there but Kolmas had control of the position.
Kolmas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hillis is one step ahead there.

Hillis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hillis got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kolmas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hillis has managed to get both his arms back between Kolmas's legs - danger averted.

Kolmas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hillis defends well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Kolmas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hillis is one step ahead there.
Kolmas has his hands on Hillis's head, controlling the position.
Hillis wants to stand but Kolmas has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kolmas is trying to control the position but Hillis postures up.

Kolmas had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hillis defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramses Kolmas dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Kolmas takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hillis lands with a cross.
Peyton Hillis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kolmas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Hillis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kolmas throws out the jab.
Kolmas shoots in looking for a takedown. Hillis tries to sprawl out of it but Kolmas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hillis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kolmas fails to land the takedown.
It looked like Hillis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Peyton Hillis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ramses Kolmas.

Kolmas takes one on the button.
A nice combination there by Hillis.
Kolmas keeps Hillis at a distance using the push kick.
Kolmas ducks right into an uppercut from Hillis.
Kolmas lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kolmas fails with a takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown attempt by Kolmas or perhaps it was just good defense by Hillis, which made it look bad.

Hillis misses with the combination.
Kolmas fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hillis tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kolmas manages to circle out of the way.
Hillis missing with a left hand there. Kolmas was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kolmas changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hillis gets caught napping as Kolmas dives in and scores a takedown. Hillis manages to retain guard.
Kolmas postures up in Hillis's guard and throws a big left but Hillis blocks it.
Hillis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kolmas is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kolmas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kolmas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Kolmas looking to sit in guard and control but Hillis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Kolmas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hillis is one step ahead there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kolmas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ramses Kolmas has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hillis has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kolmas is proving hard to escape from.

Kolmas looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Hillis is posturing up here but Kolmas has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Hillis tries to roll out but it's too tight and Hillis has to tap! Slick submission there by Kolmas!
