Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
43 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dallas Riley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Bryan! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riley closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bryan circles away. Bryan steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Bryan tries to clinch there but Riley circles away.
Riley keeps the fight on the outside. Bryan moves to clinch but Riley breaks away and Riley counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Bryan dives in for a single leg takedown but Riley sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Bryan takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Riley swats away the attempt to clinch by Bryan. Riley fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bryan is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Riley's half guard. Riley tries to roll over but Bryan keeps him under control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riley is working hard here to advance position. Riley looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Riley is pressing down on Bryan's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Bryan is pushing down on Riley's leg trying to pass to half guard. Riley is fighting to maintain full guard but Bryan has managed to sneak the leg through. Bryan wants to lay and pray for a moment but Riley keeps working. Riley is trying to maintain the position but Bryan is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Bryan is controlling the pace.
Bryan tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Bryan performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Riley gets back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Riley can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bryan controls the pace. Bryan trying to control but Riley is working from the bottom. Riley looking for a sweep. Not yet Riley, not yet.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Riley has his takedown stuffed and Bryan counters with a takedown into side control. Riley tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dallas Riley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bryan trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bryan looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Riley taps!
