Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nolan Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roberto Marcos!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Diaz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice body punch from Diaz.
Diaz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Marcos darts in and clinches Diaz up against the cage.
Diaz swings wildly with an uppercut but Marcos uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diaz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Marcos missing with knees to the body.
Marcos lands a knee to the body.
Diaz swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Diaz throws a head punch that misses.
Marcos prevents a body shot from Diaz.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Marcos turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Marcos manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Diaz gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Marcos's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Marcos is taking a breather. Diaz says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Diaz gets back to full guard.
Marcos not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Marcos got a little sloppy there for a moment and Diaz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marcos has managed to get both his arms back between Diaz's legs - danger averted.
Marcos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Diaz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Diaz looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Marcos is defending well. Diaz quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Marcos has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Diaz celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nolan Diaz!
After the fight, Nolan Diaz was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
