Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roni Draymond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chiun Remo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chiun Remo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roni Draymond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chiun Remo!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draymond fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Remo manages to avoid it.
Draymond shoots in but Remo avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Remo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Remo lands in his opponent's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Draymond working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Remo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Remo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Remo is working Draymond over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draymond is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Draymond is trying to hold Remo in close to prevent damage but Remo has managed to pass into half guard.
Remo is thwarting Draymond's attempts to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Draymond is trying to stand back up but Remo is controlling him

Remo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Draymond is looking to control Remo's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Draymond avoid being mounted?
Remo moves nicely into side control.
Draymond can't do much from the bottom here.
Draymond tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Remo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Remo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Draymond knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Remo is trying to get an arm triangle but Draymond is defending well.
Remo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Draymond!
Draymond is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coaches that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Draymond wants to control but Remo is having none of it.

Remo wants to finish this one by submission but Draymond is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Remo.

Remo has control of Draymond's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Draymond regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Draymond is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Draymond tries to lock up and control but Remo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Remo looking to isolate an arm here. Draymond doesn't see it coming and as Remo extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Remo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Chiun Remo!
Chiun Remo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
