Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Estrada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Gumby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Brian Gumby!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Estrada closes the distance and pushes Gumby back into the cage.

Estrada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Gumby but Gumby pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Estrada needs to keep his hands up - Gumby had a free shot at his head there.

The crowd cheers as Gumby lands an impressive looking overhand right. Estrada doesn't seem phased though.

We've been informed that Gumby has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Gumby stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Gumby fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Estrada.
Estrada on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Estrada jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gumby walks away with a smile on his face. Estrada gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Estrada is defended easily by Gumby.
Estrada shoots in and drives through. Gumby sprawls well.
Gumby misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Estrada goes for a double leg but Gumby avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Gumby continues to drive forward.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Estrada will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Estrada is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
