Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Acosta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and El Urso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). El Urso will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mario Acosta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, El Urso!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Urso throws a sloppy head kick and Acosta moves out of range easily.
It looked like Acosta was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Urso looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Urso throws a nice head kick!
Acosta has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Urso.
Urso tries a head kick but it misses.
Urso thuds his shin into the meat of Acosta's side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acosta misses with a takedown attempt
and Urso counters with a head kick. That will keep Acosta thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Urso lands with a nice body kick.
A nice leg kick lands there from Urso.

Urso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Urso just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromAcosta.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Urso.
Acosta really is a fat lump.
Urso throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Acosta's head.
Urso lands with a slapping head kick.

Acosta looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Urso pushes Acosta off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice body kick from Urso.

Urso tries to keep at a distance but Acosta has taken the fight into the clinch.

Acosta breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Urso gets caught napping as Acosta dives in and scores a takedown. Urso manages to retain guard.
Urso is looking to stand back up but Acosta counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Urso.

Urso is trying to stand.

Acosta throwing shots but Urso is blocking nicely.
Acosta prevents Urso from standing back up.
Acosta missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Urso is looking to escape.
Acosta has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Urso tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Acosta manages to move to mount!
Urso tries to buck Acosta off but Acosta takes his back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Urso is trying to stand back up.
Acosta trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Urso dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Acosta takes a kick to the side of the head.

Acosta clinches with his opponent.
Acosta pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Acosta wants a takedown.
Urso wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Acosta has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Acosta misses with a short punch on the inside.
Urso wants to break free but Acosta has control.

Acosta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Urso has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Urso throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Urso scores with a spinning back kick!
Urso feints and then cracks Acosta's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Acosta down.

Acosta gets the takedown into side control.
Urso is pushing Acosta's head away, looking to escape. Acosta manages to hold on to the position though.
Urso tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Acosta is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Urso throws a head kick but Acosta moves out of range.
Urso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Urso tries to keep at a distance but Acosta has taken the fight into the clinch.
Urso is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Acosta manages to break the clinch.
Acosta will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Urso throws a head kick that Acosta semi-blocks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Acosta moves into the clinch successfully.

Acosta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Urso throws a head kick that half lands.
Urso scores with a kick to the midsection.
Urso misses with a head kick.
Urso misses with a head kick.
Urso lands a head kick. Acosta smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Urso throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Acosta.
Urso connects with a high kick.
El Urso seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Urso misses with a body kick.

Acosta fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Urso to the ground. Acosta is now in Urso's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Acosta gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A head kick misses from Urso.

Acosta takes the fight into the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

El Urso showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Urso.

Acosta closes the distance and clinches.
Acosta has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Urso after a bit of a struggle.

Acosta pulls guard.
Urso throws a strike but Acosta rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Urso is looking to stand up but Acosta isn't so interested in that idea.

Acosta is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Urso is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Acosta dives into side control.

Acosta wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Urso, who protects the arm well.

Acosta is trying to get an arm triangle but Urso is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Urso is trying to get back to his feet.
Urso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Acosta. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Urso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Urso thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Acosta if he has to take too many more of those.
Urso throws a sloppy head kick and Acosta moves out of range easily.
Urso lands with a kick to the ribs.
Urso lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Urso scores with a head kick. Acosta tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Mario Acosta is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Urso throws a head kick but Acosta moves out of range.
Acosta was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Urso lands a head kick. Acosta smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Urso pushes Acosta away with a front kick.
Urso thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Acosta if he has to take too many more of those.
Urso misses with a head kick.
Urso takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Urso pushes Acosta away with a front kick.

Acosta pushes Urso up against the cage in a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
El Urso comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Urso winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking El Urso rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
