Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Virgulino Ferreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charles Martell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles Martell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ferreira's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ferreira's back!

That was a close second round but I would say that Virgulino Ferreira will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
That kick from Ferreira tenderised Martell's leg. Martell is trying to keep his angry face on.

Martell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ferreira tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Martell is in Ferreira's guard.
Ferreira uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Martell bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Martell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Ferreira's shoulder. That is not cool.
Martell stands up.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Ferreira regains full guard. Nicely done.
Martell looking to sit in guard and control but Ferreira gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Virgulino Ferreira is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ferreira swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Martell.
Ferreira lands with a kick to the temple. Martell shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Martell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Martell showed some decent athleticism there.
Martell thows a huge punch but Ferreira dodges it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Virgulino Ferreira.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ferreira, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
