The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roberts gets a takedown into half guard.
O Toole looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Roberts moves nicely into side control.
Roberts scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at O Toole to see if he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
O Toole has his foot on Roberts's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roberts works his way back into a safe position though.
Roberts is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
O Toole escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roberts gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Roberts is pushing down on O Toole's leg trying to pass to half guard. O Toole is fighting to maintain full guard but Roberts has managed to sneak the leg through.
O Toole is staying active underneath Roberts, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Roberts is looking for a kimura but O Toole is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Roberts to get the leverage.
Roberts wants to free his trapped foot but O Toole is holding on for dear life with his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

O Toole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Roberts bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Roberts has worked his way into a potential kimura here. O Toole is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Roberts yanks on the arm and O Toole is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Roberts.
