PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Julien King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teva Tulavu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Julien King has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julien King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Teva Tulavu!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Francis DeMontford and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tulavu shoots in and bounces King off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Tulavu tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Tulavu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

King will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tulavu is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, King has escaped the position, nice work there.
Tulavu tries to move to mount but King blocks the move with his legs.
You can see the frustration on King's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Tulavu walks forward, straight into a front kick from King.

King has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Tulavu uses from the top position.

Tulavu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. King looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - King's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Tulavu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but King is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tulavu manages to work his way to half guard, despite King's best efforts.

King seems to be looking for submissions.
Tulavu keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Tulavu is looking to control King's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Tulavu avoid being mounted?

King is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Teva Tulavu comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Tulavu winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
