Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Fisher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Raja Wijaya! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fisher will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Wijaya tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Fisher fakes the leg kick and cracks Wijaya in the body. Wijaya fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A big left from Wijaya misses. Fisher throwing a counter right hand but Wijaya manages to avoid it. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Wijaya throws a low kick, looking for Fisher's leg but Fisher calmly moves out of range. Fisher is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Wijaya's half guard. Fisher maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Wijaya could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Fisher has cracked it and Wijaya is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Fisher!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nathan Fisher! A relieved looking Nathan Fisher thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. The defeated Raja Wijaya had this to say: 'sorry to let you down folks, I shall train harder to win'.
