Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Orpo Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwight Moody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen comes to the cage accompanied by Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Orpo Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Dwight Moody!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
That kick from Moody tenderised Jokinen's leg. Jokinen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Jokinen on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Jokinen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Moody is looking to improve his position.
Moody is trying is best to control the position here.
Jokinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Moody keeps working.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Moody pushes Jokinen off looking to stand but Jokinen dives back in and keeps control.
Jokinen trying to mount his opponent but Moody defends it.
Moody is trying to stand up here but Jokinen is controlling him well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moody is looking to control Jokinen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Moody avoid being mounted?
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Moody pushes Jokinen off looking to stand but Jokinen dives back in and keeps control.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Moody throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jokinen sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jokinen tries to counter by clinching up but Moody breaks away and moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jokinen checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jokinen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Moody.
Moody moves out of range as Jokinen strikes.
Moody swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Jokinen throws a head kick that misses
and Moody counters with a body kick.
Jokinen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dwight Moody is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jokinen fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jokinen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Jokinen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Moody misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jokinen.
Jokinen throws a head kick but Moody moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Moody.
Dwight Moody seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moody throws a body shot but no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moody misses with a low kick as Jokinen jumps back.
Moody pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jokinen uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Moody.
Jokinen shoots in but Moody avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Moody throws a leg kick but Jokinen checks it.

Jokinen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Moody napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Moody tries to bench press Jokinen off him but Jokinen keeps the position.
Moody is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Moody holds on tight, trying to prevent any damage.
You can see the frustration on Moody's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Jokinen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jokinen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Moody is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jokinen is working to tighten his grip on Moody's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Moody has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jokinen is really squeezing tight and eventually Moody passes out! Jokinen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Orpo Jokinen!
