Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cotiso Tapae! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Cristovao! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Cristovao, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cristovao gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tapae is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tapae can't get the takedown.

It looks like Cotiso Tapae has been cut. Tapae shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cristovao but Cristovao pushes him off and we're back to square one. Tapae shoots in looking for a takedown. Cristovao tries to sprawl out of it but Tapae keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cristovao manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tapae seems to have got his legs back now. Cristovao fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tapae, pushing him back against the cage. Cristovao working hard to break the clinch. Cristovao is looking to break free of the clinch but Tapae has double underhooks. Cristovao escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cristovao looks to land a combination but Tapae avoids it well. Cristovao scores with a sloppy right hand. Tapae should have avoided that one. Cristovao has Tapae up against the cage in a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Tapae pulls guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cristovao accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Cristovao sitting in guard, not really doing much. Cristovao got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tapae has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cristovao has managed to get both his arms back between Tapae's legs - danger averted. Cristovao tries to stand but Tapae is controlling from the bottom. Cristovao follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Cristovao tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tapae swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Tapae bounces back off the cage towards Cristovao, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Cristovao lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Cristovao celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
