Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Byron Benjamin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keith Thornton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thornton shoots in but Benjamin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Thornton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Benjamin is trying to defend but Thornton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Thornton lands a nice short elbow.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Thornton connects with a nice short shot to Benjamin's temple.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Thornton is nestled in close to Benjamin, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Thornton lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Benjamin! More strikes land and this one is all over! Thornton jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Keith Thornton decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
