Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marlon Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, All Brickz!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brickz misses with a combination

and Murphy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Brickz kicks off Murphy and gets to his feet.

Brickz clinches up against the cage.
Murphy is pushing Brickz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Murphy is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Murphy wants a takedown.

Brickz breaks the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brickz.
Murphy attempts a counter takedown but Brickz avoids it well and moves away.

Murphy tries to break the clinch but Brickz is controlling the position.

Murphy struggles to land a body shot inside as Brickz controls his hands.

Brickz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brickz swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice takedown defense from Murphy. No joy for Brickz on that attempt.

Marlon Murphy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of All Brickz.
Murphy's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Brickz throws a sloppy head kick and Murphy moves out of range easily.

and Murphy counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Brickz!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murphy scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Brickz to see if he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Brickz's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Murphy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Brickz manages to work his way to half guard, despite Murphy's best efforts.

Brickz is trying to get back to full guard.
Brickz is trying to control but Murphy passes into side control!
Brickz is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Brickz is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Murphy is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Brickz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Murphy breaks from Brickz's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Brickz is trying to escape the mount.
Murphy is in the full mount, landing strikes.

BOOM! Murphy connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murphy has hold of Brickz's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Brickz manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Marlon Murphy will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Murphy tries to keep at a distance but Brickz has taken the fight into the clinch.

Murphy drags the fight down to the ground.
Murphy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brickz postures up in Murphy's guard and throws a big left but Murphy blocks it.

Murphy has his foot on Brickz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brickz works his way back into a safe position though.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brickz wants to pass the guard but Murphy is keeping the position.
Brickz throws a strike but Murphy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Murphy's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Murphy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Brickz tries to hold on but Murphy pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Murphy takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Brickz throws a strike but Murphy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Murphy seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Brickz is looking to control Murphy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brickz avoid being mounted?
