Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between L Manning Hines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sydney Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, L Manning Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sydney Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hines misses with a low kick.
Hines shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
An inside leg kick from Wilson misses.
Wilson lands a front kick.
Wilson misses with a head kick.

Hines gets the takedown into side control.
Wilson tries to improve position but can't.
Hines scores with a couple of short elbows.

Hines tries for a kimura but Wilson is defending well.
Wilson is not content to let Hines control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hines tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson taking punishment in the form of punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hines working away.
Hines trying to control the action but Wilson is working from the bottom.
Hines throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Wilson tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Hines looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Hines throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Wilson works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Wilson keeps Hines at a distance using the push kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Wilson, as that shot connected.
Wilson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters circling a little - Wilson finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Hines shoots for a takedown but Wilson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hines tries to clinch but Wilson is having none of it.
Wilson pushes Hines away with a front kick.
Wilson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hines checks it well.
Wilson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hines misses with a double jab
and Wilson counters with a leg kick.
Hines moves out of range as Wilson throws a body kick.
Hines feinted with a counter takedown.
Wilson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hines throws a shot from downtown. Wilson moves away and avoids it.
Wilson throws a big shot that misses.
Hines throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hines off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for L Manning Hines. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hines checks the leg kick nicely there.
Wilson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Hines clinches with his opponent.
Wilson prevents Hines from breaking the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Wilson.

Hines jumps into guard, dragging Wilson to the mat.
Wilson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Hines has his foot on Wilson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Wilson works his way back into a safe position though.
Hines is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Wilson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hines takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Wilson misses with a low kick.
A low kick from Wilson is predictable there

and Hines counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Hines is looking to take a break and control but Wilson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hines looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hines seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wilson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Wilson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hines is working away from the top position though.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Sydney Wilson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Nice sprawl there from Wilson as Hines shoots in.
Wilson throws a chopping leg kick but Hines manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Hines tries to counter with a takedown but Wilson is quick to defend against it.

Hines shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wilson as he jumps to the side.
Hines looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Hines attempts a counter takedown but Wilson avoids it well and moves away.
Wilson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hines will feel that in the morning.
Sydney Wilson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hines throws a jab when Wilson was well out of range.
Hines darts in looking for a takedown but Wilson gets double underhooks and turns Hines into the cage.
Wilson steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.

Hines darts in looking for a takedown but Wilson gets double underhooks and turns Hines into the cage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hines backing away here, and Wilson unleashes a leg kick that just misses.

Wilson steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Wilson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wilson fakes the leg kick and cracks Hines in the body.
Hines moves out of range of the body kick.
Wilson throws a low kick, looking for Hines's leg but Hines calmly moves out of range.
Hines takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Wilson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wilson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wilson throws a looping overhand right but Hines ducks down to avoid it.

Hines has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Wilson.
Wilson tries to land a front kick but Hines steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Hines is looking to counter the offense by Wilson and move into the clinch.
Wilson throws a sloppy head kick and Hines moves out of range easily.
Hines walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Wilson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

L Manning Hines is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wilson.
Hines throws a leg kick but Wilson checks it.

Hines throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hines is in Wilson's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hines wants to control from the top but Wilson keeps moving.

Wilson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hines dives into side control.

Sydney Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Wilson fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Hines checks it well.
Wilson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hines throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Hines takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Wilson scores with a push kick.
Hines checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

A head kick misses from Wilson.
Hines attempts a counter takedown but Wilson avoids it well and moves away.

Hines just leaning against Wilson, taking a breather.
Wilson throws a punch but it's blocked by Hines.

Wilson swings wildly with an uppercut but Hines uses good head movement to avoid it.
Wilson keeps control of Hines as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Wilson lands a nice leg kick that just misses Hines's sensitive parts.

Wilson throws a half hearted mid kick.
Wilson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wilson lands with a nice body kick.
Hines just misses with a punch to the body.
Wilson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hines.
Wilson is trying to counter with his kicks.
Wilson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Wilson throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Hines counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wilson won't be happy with that.

Hines is trying to ground and pound but Wilson uses the momentary lack of control by Hines to regain half guard.
L Manning Hines has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Wilson tries to roll over but Hines keeps him under control.

Hines stalling away here and it's allowed Wilson to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Wilson is looking to score with low kicks.

Hines fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wilson sprawls well initially but Hines persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Wilson gets back to full guard.
L Manning Hines overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Wilson controls Hines momentarily but Hines frees himself.
Hines looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Sydney Wilson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Wilson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Wilson controls Hines momentarily but Hines frees himself.

Wilson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hines is controlling him.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I would just about give that final round to Sydney Wilson.
I've got Wilson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
