Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Ben Henley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Cody Lundin!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henley connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Henley throws an off balance right hand
enabling Lundin to counter with a crisp jab.
Henley works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Lundin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Henley looks to throw the jab but Lundin is out of range.
Lundin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Henley misses with the combination.
Lundin was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Lundin scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Henley moves out of range of the body kick.
Lundin misses with a low kick.
Henley throws a jab when Lundin was well out of range.
Lundin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Henley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lundin swivels and escapes.
Ben Henley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Henley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Henley lands in his opponent's guard.

Henley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Lundin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Henley has Lundin in his guard.

Henley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lundin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lundin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Henley throws his legs up looking for a submission but Lundin uses it to pass to side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Henley is trying to work for a sweep but Lundin has mounted him!
Henley is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Henley is in all sorts of trouble here.

Henley is desperately trying to improve his position but Lundin has a good base and remains in mount.

Henley tries to hold on but Lundin pushes him away.
Henley is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Gorilla Warfare MMA, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lundin prevents Henley from getting the reversal.

Henley sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lundin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Henley scores with a crisp jab that stopped Lundin in his tracks.
Henley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A solid body kick from Lundin.
Lundin's coach down at The Butcher's Block was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lundin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Lundin tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Henley is able to avoid easily.
Henley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lundin throws out a counter right but Henley avoids it with no problem.
Lundin misses with a leg kick.
Henley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Henley lands a jab to the head.
Henley on the wrong end of a nice hook.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Lundin throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
A jab lands there for Henley.
Lundin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Henley.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ben Henley will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Henley swings for the body but Lundin moves out of range.
Lundin looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Lundin feints a jab promting Henley to slip. Lundin then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Henley slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lundin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Henley throws a shot from downtown. Lundin moves away and avoids it.

and Lundin counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Cody Lundin seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Henley throws a poor cross that misses
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Henley misses with a left hand
and Henley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
A jab from Henley finds it's way through Lundin's defenses.
Lundin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Henley lands a nice looking body shot.
Henley doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lundin takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Lundin lands a nice shot to the body.

Henley scores with a nice right hand.
Henley on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Henley misses with an uppercut. Lundin saw that one coming.
Henley shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lundin defends it nicely.
A slow jab from Henley misses its intended target.
Henley jabs Lundin to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Lundin throws a nice outside leg kick.
Henley loads up on a big right hand but Lundin slips the punch.
Lundin flicks out a counter leg kick but Henley steps away.
Henley connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lundin. Lundin circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Henley takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Cody Lundin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Henley fails to land the takedown.
Lundin tries to land a front kick but Henley steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Lundin slips under a jab from Henley.
Cody Lundin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lundin jabs Henley to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Henley moves out of range of the body kick from Lundin.

Henley scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Lundin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Henley is working away from the top position though.
Lundin gets full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Henley sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lundin's guard.
Lundin is looking for a sweep. Henley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Lundin works his way to full guard. Good work.
Henley slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Henley wants to control from the top but Lundin keeps moving.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Henley closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lundin quickly recovers to half guard.
Henley prevents Lundin from improving his position.

Henley is working for a kimura but Lundin is defending it quite comfortably.
Lundin trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lundin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Henley trying to control but Lundin is having none of it.

Henley wants to finish this one by submission but Lundin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Henley.

Henley jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Lundin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Lundin and Henley has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Henley thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Cody Lundin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Henley dives in and grabs Lundin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lundin pushes down on Henley's head and hops out.
It seemed like Lundin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Lundin moves away from the strike by Henley.
Henley jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Henley fails with the takedown
and Henley takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Donk. Henley catches Lundin right on the button with a cross.
Lundin throws a big shot that misses.
Lundin lands a leg kick that knocks Henley off balance momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henley fails with a takedown attempt.
Lundin tries a quick counter leg kick but Henley is wise to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Henley. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Henley throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lundin sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Lundin is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Lundin throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Henley stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Lundin blocks a jab.
Henley is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lundin.
Lundin throws a front kick that sends Henley stumbling back into the cage.

Henley cracks Lundin with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Henley throws out a loose jab but Lundin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Henley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lundin's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lundin is on top in guard.
Lundin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lundin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Henley has an active guard here but Lundin has managed to pass into half guard.
