Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rodger Bridges!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ralf Dattoli!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Leandro Rodrigues and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dattoli gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bridges has had enough of the clinch but Dattoli keeps him there for the moment.
Dattoli gets underhooks to prevent Bridges's takedown attempt.

Dattoli is trying to trip Bridges. He has hold of a leg but Bridges is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Dattoli persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bridges wants to sweep but no luck.
Dattoli must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Dattoli postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Bridges is trying to keep Dattoli in close.

Bridges is looking for a triangle but Dattoli pushes his legs off easily.
Dattoli trying to control the position from guard on top but Bridges is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bridges avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Dattoli gets to his feet - Bridges follows without any prompting.

Dattoli shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bridges's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dattoli wants to control from the top but Bridges keeps moving.

Bridges is adopting a defensive guard.
Bridges continues to stall.
Dattoli really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bridges. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bridges will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dattoli stops Bridges from standing up.
Bridges manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dattoli manages to get himself to full guard.

Bridges working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Dattoli's head.
Dattoli seems keen to control Bridges's posture.

Dattoli controls Bridges momentarily but Bridges frees himself.

Bridges is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dattoli doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bridges.

Bridges wants to work for an arm triangle but Dattoli is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Dattoli is trying to stand.
Dattoli wants to control but Bridges is keeping busy.

Bridges is working for a submission of some sort.
Dattoli wants to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nice strikes from Bridges there.

Bridges is working for a kimura but Dattoli is defending it quite comfortably.

Bridges is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Bridges is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Dattoli as he works his way to full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Rodger Bridges will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Dattoli throws a poor cross that misses
and Bridges counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Bridges throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Dattoli looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Bridges has his feet on Dattoli's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Bridges gets caught flat footed, as Dattoli shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Bridges pushes Dattoli off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bridges pulls guard effortlessly.

Bridges is trying to control the position but Dattoli postures up.

Bridges has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Dattoli should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bridges has tightened it up now! Dattoli should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
