Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Johnny Mc Donnagh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Otocanin Zmija!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zmija shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mc Donnagh but Mc Donnagh pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Zmija looks to move away, Mc Donnagh throws a big counter combo bu Zmija just gets out of the way.
Zmija swings for the body but Mc Donnagh moves out of range.
Mc Donnagh seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Zmija has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mc Donnagh scores with a three punch combo!
Zmija misses with a body shot.
Zmija gets the takedown into side control.
Mc Donnagh is not content to let Zmija control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zmija is trying to get an arm triangle but Mc Donnagh is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Mc Donnagh tries to improve position but can't.
Zmija wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mc Donnagh keeps working.
Zmija advances to full mount.
Mc Donnagh has left one of his arms exposed and Zmija doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Mc Donnagh screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
