Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ready Go (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricado Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricado Lopez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ready Go!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ricado Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Ricado Lopez has been cut.

Lopez tries to sprawl but Go drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Lopez kicks off Go and gets to his feet.

Go moves into the clinch successfully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Go slows down the pace here.

Go has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lopez clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Lopez manages to escape to his feet.
Go throws a series of strikes that have Lopez backpedaling.
A jab from Go does it's job there.
Lopez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Go drives through with a takedown into Lopez's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Lopez manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Go is trying to break free.

Go gets control of Lopez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Go will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Lopez tries to stand but Go is controlling from the bottom.
Lopez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Go swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Go throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Go looking for a sweep. Not yet Go, not yet.
Go might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Go has control of Lopez's left arm, preventing Lopez from doing any damage.

Lopez tries to free his leg and advance position but Go is retaining full guard.
Go thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Go looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Lopez fails with the takedown

and Go moves into the clinch.
Lopez looks winded!
Go is looking to break free of the clinch but Lopez has double underhooks.
Go dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Lopez tries to pull guard but Go forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Go gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Lopez.
Ready Go has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricado Lopez.

Go manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Go wants to sweep here but Lopez controlling him for the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Go managing to control the position.

Go is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lopez is aware though and is defending well.
Go is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Go managing to control the position.
Go is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lopez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Go has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lopez has managed to get both his arms back between Go's legs - danger averted.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lopez tries to keep at a distance but Go has taken the fight into the clinch.

Go gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Go content to stall in guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ready Go will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Ricado Lopez's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Go clinches up against the cage.
Go effectively controlling the action here.
Go stops a takedown attempt from Lopez.
Go looking to throw knees to the head but Lopez is blocking nicely.
Go keeps control of Lopez as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Go is trying to force a seperation but Lopez has the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Go has had enough of the clinch but Lopez keeps him there for the moment.
Go is trying to break the clinch but Lopez is controlling him.
Lopez managing to block the knees to the body from Go.
Lopez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Go's elbow.

Go wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Go throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Go has his feet on Lopez's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Lopez blocks a head kick by Go.
Lopez wants to counter with a clinch but Go pushes him away.
Go avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Go quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Go clinches.
Go is trying to break free.
Go is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Lopez can do to turn this around?

Go turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Lopez bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Go changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lopez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Go misses with an attempted head punch from side control.

Go wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lopez, who protects the arm well.
Go moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Go passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lopez!
Go looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Go tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Go has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ready Go dominated that second round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Go moves into the clinch.
A left hand lands to the body for Go.
Go is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Lopez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Go's efforts to push away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short uppercut from Go.
Go pushes Lopez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Go.

Go manages to pull guard.

Lopez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lopez wants to pass the guard but Go is keeping the position.
Go trying to control the position here.

Go is looking for a triangle but Lopez pushes his legs off easily.

Go is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Go knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lopez on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Go has his foot on Lopez's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lopez works his way back into a safe position though.
Go is pulling down on Lopez's head to control his posture.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Go is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lopez is aware though and is defending well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Go throws a series of punches but Lopez avoids them all with ease.
Lopez wants to clinch.

Go shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Go showed some decent athleticism there.
Lopez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Go trying to mount his opponent but Lopez defends it.
Lopez preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Go looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Lopez wants to get back to full guard.

Go is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lopez defends it well.
Go uses his free foot to push down on Lopez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lopez.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Go thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ready Go showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Go has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
