Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Marchewa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Be A King. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniel Carter !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Marchewa!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carter shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marchewa's guard.
Marchewa looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Carter postures up in Marchewa's guard and throws a big left but Marchewa blocks it.
Carter trying to stand up but can't free himself from Marchewa's guard.
Carter wants to control from the top but Marchewa keeps moving.
Carter tries to free his leg and advance position but Marchewa is retaining full guard.
Carter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Marchewa is proving hard to escape from.
Carter postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carter trying to control but Marchewa is working from the bottom.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter won't allow Marchewa to sweep him here.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Carter wants to clinch up but Marchewa keeps it at a distance.
Marchewa doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marchewa pinned against the cage. Marchewa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Carter shoots in looking for a takedown but Marchewa manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Carter 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Carter shoots in looking for a takedown. Marchewa tries to sprawl out of it but Carter keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marchewa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Marchewa now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Carter shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marchewa as he avoids it easily.

Carter throws a head kick that misses.
Carter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marchewa's waist but Marchewa gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Carter off to one side.
Marchewa let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Marchewa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Marchewa pulls Carter into guard.
Marchewa looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Carter puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Carter wants to stand up but Marchewa is controlling the position.
Carter is trying to control the action in half guard but Marchewa is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Carter prevents Marchewa from improving his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter thows a huge punch but Marchewa dodges it nicely.

Marchewa is staying active underneath Carter , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Marchewa can do anything to dispel that myth.

Carter is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Marchewa defends it well.

Carter looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A close round but Jan Marchewa will probably get the nod.

Marchewa stuffs the takedown attempt from Carter . Carter gets slowly back to his feet.
Carter misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Marchewa appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Marchewa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

A nice side step and Marchewa releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Marchewa pulls his leg out and moves away.

Horrible takedown attempt by Carter or perhaps it was just good defense by Marchewa, which made it look bad.

Marchewa works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Carter pushes Marchewa off and gets back to his feet.
Carter shoots in but no luck this time.
Carter shoots for a double leg takedown but Marchewa sprawls well. He's pushed Carter 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Marchewa counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Marchewa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jan Marchewa is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Carter is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Well Marchewa has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
