The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson scores with a sloppy right hand. Wayne should have avoided that one. Wayne misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wayne looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Johnson scores with a nice strike. Good standup being displayed there by Johnson as he connects with a hook. Wayne moves out of range of the leg kick from Johnson. A right-left combo lands from Johnson.
It looks like John Wayne has been cut. Wayne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wayne tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Johnson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Wayne tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.

Wayne shoots in and drives through. Johnson sprawls well. Wayne shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Wayne. That's going to take a lot out of him. A left lands for Johnson. John Wayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wayne shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense. A jab from Johnson does it's job there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wayne fails with a takedown attempt. Wayne tries to clinch but Johnson moves out of range. Johnson avoids the head kick by Wayne.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ted Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Wayne fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson catches Wayne with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Wayne tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Wayne misses with a head kick.
Wayne tries to clinch up but Johnson circles away and keeps his distance. Wayne shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Johnson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Wayne is breathing heavily. Wayne takes one to the chin there. A jab from Johnson finds it's way through Wayne's defenses. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wayne walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Wayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Wayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson lands with a right hand. Johnson jabs at Wayne's body. Wayne takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Johnson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
John Wayne's cut is getting worse. Johnson connects with a solid leg kick. Wayne takes a shot right to the bread basket. Nice cross by Johnson. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Johnson drops Wayne with a left right combo! Johnson follows him down to the ground into side control.
Wayne is rocked! Johnson controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ted Johnson dominated that round. The cut man is working on John Wayne's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Johnson lands a big uppercut and Wayne crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Wayne looks OK. Johnson waves Wayne back to his feet! Wayne tries to clinch there but Johnson circles away.
Wayne pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wayne wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance. John Wayne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Johnson lands a nice shot that snaps Wayne's head back.
Wayne fails in his attempt to clinch. Wayne throws a predictable looking body shot
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wayne throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wayne misses with a takedown and Johnson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Johnson connects with a nice looking jab.

Wayne has his takedown stuffed and Wayne takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
John Wayne's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Johnson lands with a right hand. Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Wayne shoots in. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Wayne. That's going to take a lot out of him. Johnson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Johnson avoids the head kick by Wayne.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Wayne looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wayne misses with a takedown and Johnson counters with a straight right hand.
Jeez, John Wayne's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked. Johnson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Johnson cracks Wayne with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Wayne looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Johnson finish him?
Oh Wayne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The referee calls the doctor in to look at John Wayne's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ted Johnson!
